"Waste Elimination" is possible only if we can identify "what is waste" in any part of our work and take appropriate steps to collectively (entire organization) eliminate it. Waste is every where. Identification of waste requires keen observation and study of whatever we do. There is a common myth that "Waste Elimination" is required only if it apparently makes a difference. But, what I very strongly feel is that though the waste eliminated for the commonly performed activity is very low, the total waste eliminated throughout the organization will be enormous.
Please use this blog for constructive comments and suggestions, not sarcastic comments like "ha ha ha". You are WASTING everyone's time when we read this.
Where can we get more information on Waste Elimination? We are a remote group with LGEAI and have received almost no information except a deadline to submit projects. Projects we submitted were approved, but then approval was reversed. Also, every employee was required to submit a project (difficult with a small group)- the LGEUS group at our location was asked to submit ideas and given a $50 gift certificate in a drawing for those submitting ideas.
A good example of small amounts of waste elimination adding up, is the improvements LG has made to reducing spam email. Reducing spam has created a small time savings for each individual employee, but for the entire corporation the time savings is huge, resulting in greatly increased productivity.
