Absolutely agree, but HR must be measured with different ways, We can see that there are many meetings related to HR all around the world, they travel a lot, they report that everything is ok in their subsidiaries but we don't see any changes, the climate is still not good, the salaries policy is not well defined, there are not many efforts to keep the best employees in LG. And when they leave HR hire someone with a higher salary.
All well said and done Mr. CEO. HR is the backbone in making a company Great Company and its the same HR that does the spoilsport too. You have a global mindset and have seen global cultures all around the world. But the same does not hold true when you see your HR people and their policies down the line. They simply admit that "we claim to be a Global Company, though we are still miles to go for that.." As a global employee working in your organization, i can feel the same what i have written..!! Will some one pay a heed to it ?? I keep my fingers crossed. I don't know if this will even reach to you..!!
The HR people in our area are many times not allowed to do the right thing by the management. HR should report to HQ and not to local management - HR should have power to enforce correct policies for each country.
