Ways to prepare reports without waste

LG has missed the point of doing a Treasure Hunting Event. The treasure that we should be looking for is unique, original ideas, which will usually come from individual employees, not from group consensus.

Instead, LG has looked at the 250 opinions from employees, and they have summarized four of the most common ideas that the employees mentioned.

These four ideas end up being very similar to Mr. Yong Nam's original ideas. This is expected, because many of the things that employees wrote for the Treasure Hunting Event simply repeated what employees had heard Mr. Nam or others say in the past.

But the reason for doing a Treasure Hunting Event is to look for new ideas, not repetition of previous ideas.

This is not an opinion survey, where you want to add up all of the responses and find out which ones are the most common. It is the opposite of an opinion survey. It is a search for treasure, which will usually come from unique ideas from individuals.

Mr. Nam should look over the 250 essays from employees, not just look at the 4-point summary.
