We are in a Rat Race with the competitors.In recent times i have noticed that LG has no strategy to catch market excpet to release phones to market with lots of quality issue.
Most of the ideas comes from the key resources.But these key resources are over burdened and hence they are not able to generate ideas or implement new thing that can make a cutting difference in the market.Due to recession the Training and Develoment has also come to a Zero level.If they don't rectify these key points.LG is no different that the new mobile vendors in the markets.
As I always say to my people: you don't need to work more time, you need to work more smart. Through constant innovation is how we can always stretch ourselves to a higher level of execution.
I totally agree that the paradogm is shifting. And I think that we have to CREATE a trend, but not to follow. This is the only way how to become a leading brand worldwide
"Smart Way" to me means keeping pace with consumers by more closely identifying with them, understanding their needs and creating products that exceed expectation. We should always focus only on those features/attributes that are of maximum value to consumers...and base our strategy on simply meeting those needs before our competitors do.
I think most of LG innovations are very micro level like a transparent screen or some flashing lights on mobile. Its just a hardware innovation. Such innovations die in one month and no one remembers it. We need to do a System level innovations. Whether its smart TV or smart phone, the competition is not in making micro innovation in indivisual products but in making a complete suite of product integrations and end-to-end customer experience. I hope we understand this.
Apple made smart phone as an Apps war game. If business is in software for PC then its Apps for smart phone. Other companies started fighting Apple on Apple's terms and conditions in Apple's territory(music, apps, ecosystem). You will never win. You need to make your own strategy and not add features to existing phone and just follow others.
Where is the LG of OLD ,taking the lead .The Paradigm is shifting but why follow a trend. Lets Create and Set the trend and let the others follow. To be a leader is to be in front,opening new doors and building the roads that lead too and establish trends in the market..We will NEVER be NO 1 if we remain with the sit back/copy and follow the trend mentality...

It is not how good we are, It is how good we want to be. We need to think more than SMART as a market trend setter.
