Mr. CEO,

All i want to say that you have been pretty consistent in labelling LGE as a Global Co. But the irony is far from the truth. In reality, we are not even trying to be there.

Your consistent idealogy and vision is pretty inconsistently followed by your own selected people and with in your own BUs. Your focus has always been on achieving premium brand image in eyes of your external customers....but i vouch on the fact that untill you streamline your policy for your internal customers i.e, the employees...this idea of being Global is futile in its very inception.

Having worked in HQ Korea for 6 yrs as a foreign employee, i am yet to come out of the fact that...in your "Global Co." we still have different and altogether incompetitive and irrational HRD and HRM poilicy for foreigners. Just by hiring CXOs of foregn nationality won't lead us anywhere. Just dig out a bit more and then lets dwell on the fact that how much Global we truely are..? And how much we want to achieve in actual.

Ideally there is no Foreigner or Native worker in a truely Global Co. This tag should be slowly liquified

REST WILL FOLLOW...!!

And it comes striaght out of my gut.

FSE DOES NOT enhance capability or team spirit for locals, on the contrary FSE destroies team spirit as if sabotoging the initiative to go global.
One way around this is to hire local Koreans as local managers, however:
A Korean local manager receives about $25K personally per month from suppliers and thefts - this is against LG Way? this has been happening for years!

Jeong-Do - these and more were reported to the Jeong-Do communication channel but NOTHING has been done.

- If I wanted to go there I wouldn't start from here.

(Old Persian saying)

Turning LG into a truly global company is a worthy goal, but from where we stand culturally, it can't be achieved in incremental steps.

Only through disruptive changes to our culture and processes could we ever hope to become a global company. Unfortunately, LG as an organization lacks the will to leave its "local" past behind.

Mr Nam.
I know that transforming an local organization into global is difficult job.
However I trust the direction you are working in is the correct one.

Best regards,

CEO has correct ideas but some FSE do not do what he asks. FSE who do not follow CEO instructions should be removed from LG.
