The greatest social contribution LGE can make

Simply beating the competition does not make a significant social contribution. If LG disappears, competitors will simply step in to create jobs, pay taxes, and make their suppliers more competitive, making the same social contribution that LG would have.

To make an important social contribution, we must be better than our competitors in areas like green technology, how well we treat our employees, how well we compensate our employees, whether we are fair to employees in 3rd-world countries, whether all employees are treated with respect and human dignity including the employees in 3rd-world countries, how well we treat our customers, whether our products have better quality and reliability than our competitors, whether our products are safer for consumers than our competitors (cell phone radiation, for example), whether we provide good service to our customers, how we treat our suppliers, etc.

We must not only beat the competition. We must provide a much greater social contribution than our competitors would provide if LG didn't exist.
