And now in China,I glad to find more and more FSE's thinking is changing and the local employees all try their best to do work well. By the way, not only empower but also rights,responsibility and so on....
I agree whole heartily, it gives your team the feeling of trust and empowerment and helps to teach those pros and cons related to customer interactions. However, we must caution ourselves (management) concerning employee concepts and perceptions related to what authority has been transferred. Management remains ultimately responsible for those actions of our subordinates, be cautious of what we delegate to be sure we all think on the same basis.
More attention should be made to putting the correct people in the correct job - so many Korean managers are moved from job to job ever couple of years with little or no training or expertise that our CEO's belief that they hold more insight does not always hold true.
